The beautifully crafted custom wood bench puts
pussy willows within reach in the spring and the
heads of river oats nodding underneath.

This stone bridge is one of three in the pre-school garden...only two
of them involve crossing water.
The slate is an impressive 4' x 4' piece, which will be integrated into
the poured-in-place path surface.

Plants are laid out in the pattern they will be on the
shed roof. Classrooms above will be seeing the
blossoms of an experimental variety of species (no
Sedum, which is on most lists of toxic plants).
The green stain is about the same color as many of
the emerging leaves on the site.
|
|
Logs edging the path and play mulch will make an
intriguing balance beam circuit, if you can resist
stopping to pick a few blueberries.

|
 |
Next week this picture will be complete, when the poured-in-place surfacing is installed.
Timing will depend on when the predicted rain arrives.

Meanwhile, Mike adds sand to the pre-school sand play area.
Pennsylvania sedge is tucked between the boulders for unexpected discovery of its soft blades.

6mm Macrolux polycarbonate panels are flexible enough for a smooth radius on this fence section.

Paving stones lead from the project terrace, past the rain garden, over the streambed, and through the "beach" of river stone.
The notched stones are part of the weir. Your Space custom made the batter board and gave us an extra, just in case....
